Our Pastor
Rev. Mark Milligan
Rev. Mark Milligan began his ministry at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in August 2014 after serving churches in Missouri and Vermont for 18 years. Before entering the ministry, he had a 17-year career as a computer system analyst. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Cleveland State University and Master of Divinity from Eden Theological Seminary. Rev. Mark has also completed post graduate work at the Aquinas Institute of Theology / St. Louis University in Spiritual Direction, becoming a certified spiritual director. Rev. Mark firmly believes in the priesthood of all believers and understands that he is in the ministry ‘with’ and not ‘to’ the congregation. He feels that while the roles of the pastor are myriad, there are three subjects that are at the core of a faithful ministry; preaching – teaching – spiritual guidance. Rev. Mark believes it is essential for the church to deal with issues of the day in a way that is consistent with the teachings and examples of Jesus, as brought to us in the New Testament. He also believes that the church and worship should be a place and time of joy and celebration, not gloom and guilt. He strives to establish this tone during times of worship, study, fellowship, service and all other times the congregation comes together. He is also an avid student of sacred geometry; the contemplation and utilization of archetypal geometric patterns of Nature for the purposes of communing with God, the Creator.
Rev. Mark and Kathy, his wife and partner in ministry since 1975, have three grown children residing in St. Louis MO, Fort Collins CO, and Frankfort, IL. He and Kathy are proud grandparents of one grandson, Alexander .

Wendy Marotta
Wendy has been with St. Peter’s UCC since November 2010. She lives in Mokena with her husband Dennis, sons Jake, Tyler, Luke and Jarold the famous cat. It is a joy and a blessing that Wendy is a part of our St. Peter’s family.
